Alessandro Paolo Alghisi
Profile
Frontend-focused engineer and strong generalist with 10+ years of production code. I own features end to end, from the first idea through React/TypeScript implementation, the Python/Django or Node.js API behind it, release and iteration. At Sector Labs I was on the small team that built Bayut.com and Zameen.com from scratch into data-heavy platforms used by millions every month. Before that I interned twice at Google, where my Chrome patch still ships. I work AI-first every day, with RAG pipelines and LLM agents in production.
Highlights
AI & product work, live
Walkthroughs of systems I built, replayed in the browser with sample data. Client code and data stay private.
Experience
- Client sites and portals in React, Next.js and TypeScript with Node.js / Python APIs on PostgreSQL, shipped via Docker and GitHub Actions on AWS; field-service mobile apps with live GPS tracking and geotagged photos.
- Owned frontend features end to end in React (Hooks) and TypeScript on a Gulp-built platform; drove the AngularJS-to-React migration and took part in architecture decisions; code review and CI/CD ownership.
- Chat copilots and smart search with the Vercel AI SDK (OpenAI, Gemini); RAG on pgvector; Gemini for English–Haitian Creole translation. Daily Cursor with Claude, Gemini and Grok.
- React + TypeScript front ends and REST services (Python/FastAPI, Node.js) on PostgreSQL for a regulated compliance platform on Azure; OAuth 2.0 with Google and Microsoft Entra ID; file sync with OneDrive, SharePoint and Google Drive.
- LLM pipeline (Azure OpenAI) turning regulatory documents into strict JSON; agentic tool calling for plain-language queries.
- Built Collab, a Zoom-style app in React / Next.js / React Native (Expo) + TypeScript over WebRTC with a shared Monaco IDE; Zoom Video SDK and Cisco Webex POCs plus SOC 2, licensing and scale evaluation.
- React SSR redesign that lifted engagement ~50%; RAG (pgvector) and LangChain agents that cut support response time ~60%; AEM components (HTL, Sling, OSGi).
- Part of the small senior team that built Bayut.com, Zameen.com and other property portals from scratch and scaled them to millions of monthly users.
- Led the React / Redux / TypeScript front end with SSR: search, listing and data-rich UI features end to end, render and bundle performance (Webpack), Redis caching on the hottest pages.
- Django and Node.js REST services on PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and AWS; kept the legacy PHP/Laravel platform in sync while migrating it to Node.js, Python and React.
- LoadRunner's C++ web-protocol engine (VuGen): features and client defect fixes, session-correlation bugs traced with Wireshark; ~25% efficiency gain.
- Release-safety system wired into Google's release framework; C++ tool deciding if a policy is safe to ship; Python and REST tooling; logging prototype ~15% faster.
- Pinch-to-zoom for Chrome's PDF viewer in C++ and JavaScript: touch events, two-finger gesture tracking and the linear algebra that keeps the point under your fingers fixed while the page scales.
- Merged in Chromium: codereview.chromium.org/1881603002.
Quarterly report
Revenue grew across all regions this quarter. Mobile sessions now account for most traffic, so reading documents on a phone has to feel natural.

- Node.js REST APIs, SQL, React and jQuery: my first production React/Node code.
- Perl tooling and web features for real-estate data systems.
